Here is what I have been up to while MIA

WARNING!! What you are about to see might turn your stomach:)

well, for everyone wondering what I have been up to these past few days, I laid a new floor. I couldn't stand looking at the filthy carpet anymore (not even cleaning it every other week helped, so I ripped it out and put some cheap vinyl tiles in until we are done remodeling and I can get my real floors in. Cheap beats dirty in my book:)]

[::::blush:::: photo of how bad my carpet really looked,it really used to be white. In my defense I have to say, that it wasn't as bright and shiny when we moved in 2 years ago, but having 3 dogs and a DH dragging in dirt didn't help either. Plus, we have everything torn out outside, there was, for about a year, pure dirt going all the up to the house, with no porch or stairs. Ok, I rest my case. It's BAD!!! Even with carpet cleaning every other week, 2500sp feet, there was no keeping up. Can you say excausting?!! So out it finally went.)

LOL! I shouldn't laugh, but I'm laughing with you not at you. With two dogs and a house at only 1,050 sq ft...my living room carpet is trashed! So I can definately relate. I've been contemplating ripping the carpet out and leaving the bare hardwood floors, but I'd hate to have the dogs ruin those, too! It truly never ends... ;)

Oh and the cheap tile you put in looks great! :)

I hear you on the doggies ruining the floors, but I am going back to hardwood and tiles as soon as possible.

I have the new hardwood sitting upstairs waiting to be installed in the new bedroom, and I know what ya mean about doggie scratches, but I think it will be fine. I already put a few pieces together and put it right in the entrance way for a couple of weeks and it looks still like new.
And even if it ends up getting scratched, it adds character. I will be sad when the first dents and scratches appear, but worn out wood looks 1000 better than worn carpet to me:)

Woodfloors always seem to look good, no matter what condidition they might be in (unless pee stains, yikes lol)
