Nine days til Christmas!!

and I still don't have a tree up and decorated yet.

We decided to have a Holiday party afterall. The house (even more so the surroundings) is such a mess, but the decision has been made. We love having people over; a little dust shouldn’t stand in our way to have some fun during the holiday season.

This is the first year ever that I don’t have my tree up and decorated yet. What a bummer!! I just didn’t know where I could put it, with all the holes in the walls which were supposed to be dry walled. Well, DH finally came to realize he won’t be able to do it in time, ut now I am in no mood at all to decorate the tree anymore. I know I’ll be even more bummed if I don’t do it. But putting up all the lights, oh my, that will take me a few hours alone. Maybe, just maybe I can get Hubby to do it this year, but this is cutting close.

The party is Wednesday evening and there is so much to do. I still have not figured out what to serve. I went overboard last year, had too much food; appetizers and dinner. Plus, we are on a budget due to the remodel. I was thinking this year appetizers only. But what can I make that doesn’t take much time to prepare, is fairly inexpensive and tastes great? Afterall, it has to live up to my high standards;~). Another pickle is, we will be gone all day/evening Tuesday, so no time to prep anything. Arrgh, I can feel my stress level rising!


Oh yeah, and I think I found the perfect present for hubby. I know I will regret getting it for him because I am no fan of such things, but he is such a good guy and has been working so hard on the house, plus everytime he sees it his face lights up. I think he will really enjoy it for many years to come. Oh boy!!
