hello :)

Hello :)
Wow, I haven’t been here in a while, not even taken a peek on my blog. And yes, I do feel bad.

First I get an e-mail from a buddy on I-village and now I read the posts in my journal.

I did not mean to disappear, I just need to spend my time a bit more productively. So after I hosted a challenge during October I came to realize, I need to cut down on my online time (for real this time- I keep saying it, but never do) if I ever want to be done with those never ending re-occurring projects. I know some I have little control over, but there are many things I shouldn’t be behind on/with.
I am very thankful that DH does not say anything and lets me do my own thing on my own time, but I have been wasting time away and I can’t continue on this way. So, the 1st thing that needs to be cut is my online activity.
I already kinda missed out on Halloween (too busy hosting the October Challenge) and with the Holidays (my favorite season) being right around the corner I don’t want to miss out on anymore.

With hosting stuff and organizing a garage sale we had last weekend and getting the house somewhat done at the same time for another pre-home inspection, it’s time for me to re-focus and get back some more into RL.

DH and I talked and decided to go ahead one more time with our foster/adopt agency. We kinda have been beating around the bush and using the home projects as an excuse not to “deal” with it again.
Now I think we are ready to go through with it one more time. Which also means getting the house acceptable again . That’s why we asked for a pre-home inspection so someone could tell us what we needed to have done and what wasn’t important. That report also hinged on us making the decision to move forward or not.
We are way to deep into the project to completely stop it or being able to fix it all. It just can’t be done for at least another year minimum. Anyone having gone through a remodel knows what I am talking about. Once you start it you can’t just patch it up, one thing leads to another!

Anyways, sounds like it’s not as bad as I thought. We need to fix a few things on the first floor, and keep the 2nd floor un-accessible. Which isn’t a problem , since the upstairs is pretty much all master anyways, but it’s also the biggest construction zone.

So, since the Holidays are starting I told DH to hold off on everything inside and start fixing thing after the New Year. That will give us about 6 weeks to get it all done before we are leaving for Germany for 3 weeks.

In the meantime Steven and I have (mostly Steve) been working on things outside.
He borrowed the bull dozer from a neighbor and is cutting in fire lines & terraces for the vineyard. Also been doing more landscaping in the front yard, doing my oh so favorite activity, river rock lugging lol. I can’t count how many times I have moved these darn rocks. But it needs to be done and I am all for recycling and saving money whenever possible. And by reusing all those big rocks we are saving “mucho dollars”.

Other than that, I am on track with my walking, actually more jogging these days, which is good, . But I am not at goal yet. Keep doing the bouncing thingy, as low as 171lbs (6 pounds from goal) the end of October, then back up the 175 lbs and down a little again. Same old dance, I am getting tired of it :) . But I know it’s all up to me! So complaining don’t do me any good, hehehe.

Ok guys, just saying “Hello” and I am not even going to pretend that I will be here every day, but I will try and keep checking in a bit more frequently than I have been. No promises, only good intentions :)

Take care & Happy Holidays
Heike
