Pictures!!!
here they are! Finally and long overdue!! The room is done we are all moved in. Well, not all the furniture I want yet (we are broke lol) So this will have to do for the time being!!
The walls are taped and ready to be painted

everything was spray painted, now I am trying out some finishes/glazes, which I ended up not liking and I had to paint it all over (if you don't have work, create some, right?)

DH and I putting up crown molding. My friend who came to visit over labor day weekend took this picture.

DH laying out the tiles for the fireplace

Tiles are done

DH on the next project, building the fireplace. I ended up not liking the top part and had the poor guy redo an entire day worth of work. But it was worth it. We both love it now!!

Fireplace done, next the bookcases

Bookcase almost build, Fireplace first coat of paint

Hardwood floors are coming in!! Steps are done

ready to get the floors in, paper is down

All these boxes need to be empty

DH busy nailing in the floors, notice the ear plugs, it was so loud!!

AAAH- it's gorgeous!!! My favorite- the drapes! Love them. The color and texture- perfect- dupioni silk? Love them!
Thanks Tee!
LOL, finding the perfect shade was a different story, but it all turned out wonderful.
DH is praying for me not to get tired of the color theme too soon. Those drapes alone set us back a small fortune.
Mt bedroom (a quarter the size of yours) has a similar color scheme- chocolate brown bedding and drapes with a blue/green wall color. I love it. Very spa-like. I hope I won't tire of it too qiuckly either.
I got some gorgeous dupioni silk drapes for my dining room at smartbargains.com Love that site!
oh, thanks for the website, I'll have to check it out!!
So many more projects and decorating to do, I need to save where I can.
Heike,
Just love your new bedroom. What a view. And what beautiful decorating!
Also, congratulations on your weight loss. I know you have been at it for a long time, which I know is the way to go for the long run. Maybe someday I will get motivated to get down to 173 lbs! Good for you, lady!!
Amanda
