Friday, 5th

I am so happy! Looks like we have the dog sitting situation all figured out for February as well. That was weighing on me a lot. The idea of having to board the boys and kittie wasn’t my favorite solution. Some of the girls at the vet clinic do dog sitting and one come highly recommend by her former employer who is also our neighbor. She has no problem staying at our house for 3 weeks and I think this will be the best for my fur babies. Being away for 3 weeks from us would be hard enough (probably more for me than them :) ), but being in an unfamiliar surrounding as well is a lot (yeah, for me, not so much for them, I know :) )
Another reason to be happy!! I weight in at 173lbs this morning. 3 lbs down from Monday. I am down 40 lbs total and 8 more to go !! Now, I just have to make it through the weekend and see what end result it will be for sure. Hehe, you just never know :) .
I know I keep repeating myself, but I am convinced food journaling is a major key element in my success. Without it I would have not come this far.
Did another jog this evening and now I am hurting. It’s ok, it’s just that this ol’ body needs to take it a bit slower J Will stick to walking the next few days!

DH on the next project, building the fireplace. I ended up not liking the top part and had the poor guy redo an entire day worth of work. But it was worth it. We both love it now!!

Thursday, 4th

Monthly Newcomers Luncheon today. Good food, small portions, which is good as well, I certainly didn’t leave hungry. Even had some cheese cake (which I forgot to add, I’ll do it now :) )
Stuck behind the computer big part of the day putting in data from the past 3 days. I think I will do it every 3 & 4 days: Thursdays for Mo-Wed and every Monday for Thu-Sun. Or maybe just once every Monday. Will see how it goes!
Anyways: Put my new Nikes on this evening; figuring put the good runners on because I only wanted to make it a quickie 30 minute jog/run. Usually enough to get close to my A.step goal. I already had 2700 steps on it from earlier while walking and talking to mom telling her that we are coming to Germany for sure in February. She seemed pretty excited.
Anyways ended up jogging 50 minutes and lost was uphill, slow, but still jogging. I love it when I conquer those darn hills!! Wow a few month ago I wouldn’t even have tried to attempt it. I am thinking more and more of maybe signing up for some 10k races next year. Have to look into it some more and see if there are some closer to us.
So far so good about not touching my favorite chocolate this week. There is an open package in the fridge with only a couple of pieces since this week started. BUT I will not touch it.

Wednesday, 3rd


Took it pretty easy all day long. By 5pm I was way under 1000 steps, but it changed when DH finally decided to join me for a walk. He suggested to hike up the mountain today. (the one we usually hike around on). It was a m#%#% of a climb. 10-15% incline nonstop. No flat spots. To get a break on.
The guys from CDF use this one for their drills several times a week. Am I glad I don’t have to do this one.
HR was up I think I can count this as an alternate activity, certainly wasn’t going for a walk today.
Also glad my knee held up and didn’t give me any problems!!

too much time has past so I start at the beginning of this month


Monday, 1st
Well, I weight in at 176 this morning, one pound more than I would have liked to see, but oh well, doo doo happens!
This is a new month, a new week and new challenges which will lead to new accomplishments!!

11:30 am: Got the “Aerobic Monkey” off my back for today!! Took me 56 minutes total to get around the mountain + I added a little to get a full 30 minutes of jogging in today.
So, 31 minutes of jogging the rest uphill walking when the hills were to steep.


I was thinking long and hard about what I was willing to give up for this week and to be honest NOTHING is stepping forward and volunteering :) .
So, I have no choice but to kick one of my biggest vices to the curb this week. Anything chocolate/nuts can not be touched. This will be hard, especially since I just “stocked up” on some of my favorites (the store I find it isn’t close by, so I need to “prepare for emergencies :) ).

At least I still have some black licorice if the going gets tough (better enjoy it while I can because that’s the next to go)

Besides giving up a food treat I will also cut down on my online time. Starting after the 3rd, once admission to the October Challenge is closed. After that I will have only limited time anywhere I go on the net. I might just keep it to posting my dailies and checking everyone else every other day or so. Have to see how much time hosting /keeping track is going to take up :)

Time spend in front of the computer/TV can be better spend walking or keeping myself busy otherwise. It’s certainly a habit I should have less off!!
