Step Log for May 28th- June 3rd

Wednesday: 12028 steps/ 5.695 miles ( no walk today, gave the two bathrooms a good scrubbing and spend yet another day in the yard for almost 4 hours, yep, same o'l same ol' sorting and lugging rocks. It's a verrrrrry long fence!

I am thinking of joining the "Million Steppers" Group. It's done by the Walker Trackers and everytime you reach a Mil. marker you get a "little shoe" you can attach to your lace. Not that I would, but it certainly would be a great motivator. I mean in only 2 1/2 weeks I managed to walk about 300+k so it shouldn't be too long to get my first one. There is actually one person on there who did 8,889,002 steps since Nov 06, 2006 , that's approx. 300,000+ steps a week, WOW!!!! To do that I would have to walk triple what I am walking now. I think I will shoot for the 1st million and be happy:~)

Tuesday: 22062 steps/10.446 miles (walked 60 minutes/ 7829 steps/3.2 miles (1/2 way with neighbor)/ did the "rock thing" around the yard, again and spend about 3 1/2 hours in a dentist chair. My mouth still hurts! Didn't before, but now it does. Had to get a crown fixed that chipped earlier this month. Everything had to come off and needed to be re-done. What a PITA! When I go back to get the crown fitted I will have to do it all over again on a different tooth. So not looking forward to it!

Monday: 26245 steps/12.426 miles
(walked 81 minutes/5 mile walk 10328 steps.) as for the rest, who knows:O). I ran errands and worked some more in the yard. Feels like a good start for this week, especially since I didn't really walk the last 3 days. I think I said that already:)

HWY 50: I am about to cross the state line from Missouri to Kansas. GAIL!! where are you?????

Since Sunday May,13th: 304,814 steps.

18 days completed (16,934 steps/day average)

What's up??

Anyone been wondering what I have been up to these past few weeks?Ok, let's do a little catching up, in no particular order:)

I finally made an appointement with our adoption agency to have the annual home inspection done. I told the socialworker that we are still not done with the house, and it won't be for a loooong time, but we believe we will be keeping things safe at all time, BUt she should see for herself and make a decision. If they don't like it, oh well. We are done putting our lifes on hold for something that might not ever happen.
I have also been contemplating (sp?) about maybe just switching over to Fostercare only for now. Leave everything updated for the adopotion come apart, but shift focus. I really would like to have some kids in my home, but with adoption as a 1st priority it is less likely for them to place fosterkids only with us. so, I am thinking, let's do the fostercare, and who knows, maybe, just maybe one of these children might become avialable afterall. You just never know. I mean, there is this one lady who does fostercare and ended up taken in 5 infants so far and has adopted them all. Maybe we have been doing it all wrong?????
Anyways, I think Fostercare also takes "the pressure" off in some ways. Like setting yourself up emotionally and hoping things will work out this time. With this not being an issue to start with a lesser chance of being disappointement.
And yes, I am also starting to think I may just be getting too old and selfish having to take care of a child for the rest of my life. I know sounds awful, but I can't help it.

What else?? Currently have people cutting holes in my roof and putting in a new A/C unit. Just in time, it's getting pretty hot already. By the time Summer really starts we should be able to stay cool this year.
Last year was awful, we had some nights the house didn't cool down and it was 90+ degrees inside, no breeze, no nothing. It was miserable. the biggest kicker though, was that we had the A/C running all day long, but it was just pumping cold air outside (ripping the old ducts etc. out we realized there were plenty of big holes in the system. No wonder we had such high engery bills during the Summer months ($400/$500).

otherwise, the house is coming along, slowly, but eventually we'll get there.
I think Steve is planning on finishing up the brick work in the driveway. We finally got all the construction trash out of here, so he can continue on with that project.
Right now, we are pretty much going by what the temperature will be on any given day. The cooler am hours he will work on outside projects when it gets too warm he'll do something inside. Not sure when the Master bedroom will be done, but it's ok. He installed the fireplace last weekend and I ordered some nice tiles for it and the hearth as well as the steps going into the bedroom. It's going to be nice. We still need to texture and paint the walls, tile, install hardwood floors, crown moldings on ceiling/window casings and cabinetry around the fireplace. I think that's it:). If I am in that room by fall, I am just as happy. Right now I have a place to sleep:)

I started "walking" on Route HWY50 on the East Coast and am making my way cross country to the West Coast. Basically tracking my steps every day for 69 days. I passed through Jefferson City, MO last night and am heading towards the Kansas border making my way to Hutchinson.

Since Sunday May,13th: 292,786 steps.
17 days completed (17,222 steps/day average)
52 days to go to finish line

It's been how long????

Well, I have been slacking off on everything! Weightloss, blogging, journaling, walking, ....... and today is "Weigh-In Day"! Yippie!! NOT!!!

No change this week either, which was expected. Sure I walked a lot, but I also ate a lot more than I should have. So, like I said no big surprise!!

I think I am ready to commit myself to more discipline again, mostly eating more sensibly.
I am already back on track with the walking/exercise and drinking all of my water. I also started logging into my food journal last Monday again. Mostly at the end of the day to see how much damage I have been causing. Last time I entered anything before that was April 6th. That's more than 6 weeks, and that's pretty much for how long I have let things slide. But no more!! Now I am ready to pay more attention to everything again and logg immediately or even look things up ahead of time. I know food journaling is one of the key elements in my weightloss success. I guess the numbers being in "my face" at all time keep me on track!
Looking forward to posting a loss again, staring next Monday!!

(and now that I made this big announcement I better show some results next Monday. Or what is it they say: I better not have put my foot in my mouth:~)??

Later:
I am DONE for the day!!
Monday: 26245 steps/12.426 miles (walked 81 minutes/5 mile walk 10328 steps.) as for the rest, who knows:O). I ran errands and worked some more in the yard. Feels like a good start for this week, especially since I didn't really walk the last 3 days. I think I said that already:)
